Hi, I’m “T” McBride.

I am glad you found your way here today. I’d like you to know my story.

I lost my dad at two, and in spite of witnessing abuse and murder as a kid, I also had a mom who raised five of us and expected only our best. She surrounded us with role models who always supported us through never-ending challenges.

I entered human services because I wanted to help other at-risk individuals improve in spite of their struggles and adversity, the way my mom did with us.

After completing my degree in Christian Counseling at Liberty University, I began my quest for Life Skills training and Coaching. You can see by my “Wall of Learning” that I’ve completed a dozen or more additional life skills certifications.

Now, 3 decades later, I’ve founded Empowered by Hope LLC so I can continue to educate and coach people like you who want to improve and succeed.

 I have been hungry, homeless, and penniless at times, however, just like the people I serve, adversity has made me better.

I’m grateful everyday to have been gifted with a drive to serve others, particularly people on the margin of society. Throughout my career I’ve handled many difficult group home and in-patient hospital assignments. As my reputation grew, management increasingly sought me out to work with clients that the system had given up on. That’s because I am able to create considerable positive outcomes for my patients, and decreased hospitalizations for my employers.

People often ask me about my dream for the future, and it’s always the same. I want to improve the lives of the people I serve… by always being accessible, by teaching and by encouraging others. Because, at the end of any given day, the small things, ofter overlooked, really are the big things.

The refrain that keeps me going I give to you: “Tough times require tough people. You can do this!”

When I’m not delivering programs and coaching my clients, I love to spend time with my wife and adult kids exploring nature, telling silly jokes, and connecting with people who have a heart for the gospel.
